China: CSDC Orders New Bulk Carrier at Jiangnan Shipyard


China Shipping Development Company (CSDC) has penned an order to build a 76,000 dwt bulk carrier worth approximately RMB229.3m ($36.1m). The new agreement was made between CSDC’s subsidiary Tianjin Zhonghai Huarun and Chinese builder Jiangnan Shipyard on Tuesday.


China Shipping Development Company (CSDC) has penned an order to build a 76,000 dwt bulk carrier worth approximately RMB229.3m ($36.1m). The new agreement was made between CSDC’s subsidiary Tianjin Zhonghai Huarun and Chinese builder Jiangnan Shipyard on Tuesday.

The expected delivery date for the newbuilding is by 31 January 2013.

CSDC has on Monday agreed to spend RMB700m to construct four bulk carriers of 45,000 dwt each from CSOC and Bohai Heavy Industry.

The Hong Kong-listed firm aims to increase the annual shipping capacity of Tianjin Zhonghai Huarun in the transportation of coal produced by Huarun Electricity Group.
